THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE WORK

Trent is the Lead Pastor of a local church that played an integral role in getting Destiny Haven up and running in 2007. He has a heart to see people live a transformed life, to be free from the oppression of life controlling issues such as those the Diamonds experience before coming to Destiny.  He loves that Destiny incorporates biblical principles as part of its overall process in the restoration journey for the Diamonds, allowing them the opportunity to discover a faith filled, transformed life. Trent has a trade in horticulture and completed his CertIV in Ministry in 2012. He has been a Senior Pastor for 10 years, plays the piano and bass guitar and is married with 2 children.

Janine is the co-founder and Clinical Services Manager of Destiny Haven, a residential recovery program for women facing addiction, trauma, and life-controlling issues. Her own recovery journey began in 1994, when she and her husband Lewis entered rehab. This experience led her to pursue formal training in counselling and recovery. Janine holds a Master of Counselling, a Bachelor of Intercultural Studies (Honours), and qualifications in Family Therapy, AOD, Comorbidity, and Community Services. Since founding Destiny Haven in 2007, she has led its therapeutic programs, mentored the counselling team, and walked closely with women in recovery. Her approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in empathy and lived experience.

Alison’s heart is to see peoples’ lives transformed physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and socially. When she was a teenager she experienced Janine’s intervention, prompted by Christ, which enabled her life to be set in a different direction. She has joined the Board of Destiny Haven to be part of a team, and community, that enables the loving, nurturing, supportive environment that is Destiny Haven to go from strength to strength and provide many more women the opportunity for their lives to be transformed. Alison has also held a long-term vision to see centres like Destiny Haven come into existence to support men, and families as a whole. She is a proud descendent of the Anaiwan/Nganyaywana people group of the New England Tablelands. She is an avid supporter of regenerative agriculture; cottage industry & SME; and social enterprise. Among Alison’s academic achievements are her Diploma of Business; Diploma of Leadership & Management; and Diploma of Christian Counselling. She is director of a real estate company, a mortgage broking company and is a partner in an accounting firm. Alison and her husband, Adam, have 4 adult children and a son-in-law.

Joy has served on the Board of Directors of a family Company for several years and in this role has been involved in fundraising for Compassion and undertaken overseas ministry trips. She is currently a Director of the Vos Foundation. Joy has been actively involved in Victorious Ministries Through Christ (vmtc.org.au) for many years and is a serving member of the National Executive as well as a National Director for Tasmania. She has a passion to live by the Spirit, and to see people healed, set free and released into the fullness that God has for them. She has been married to Dirk for 53 years. She has three married daughters, is Oma to nine grandchildren, and recently became a proud great-grandparent. She loves to flow in that anointing to love, shape, and bless them in their lives.

Casey brings both lived experience and professional expertise to her leadership role at Destiny Haven. A graduate of the program herself, she now serves as a board member and works closely under Janine’s leadership across several key areas of the organisation. Her role is broad in scope, managing The Diamond Collection social enterprise, leading marketing and communications, and overseeing accounts and day-to-day operations. With a deep understanding of the recovery journey, Casey brings compassion, creativity, and purpose to every area she serves, helping women find the same hope and transformation she once experienced.
