COSTS & ARRIVAL

The Destiny Haven gates. A gravel road lined with trees on both sides leads to a countryside with open fields and a distant mountain in the background.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE

What you need to know before you get here

We know arriving somewhere new can feel a bit uncertain. That’s why we keep things clear and calm, so you know what to expect and can ease into the routine.

Here’s how it works in your first few weeks:

  • You’ll share a twin room with another woman

  • Staff will check your bags with care and respect

  • You’ll be paired with a buddy (someone who's been here longer) to help you find your feet

  • Mobile phones and social media are off-limits to help you focus

  • After your first week, you’ll be able to make one 15-minute phone call each week to a family member or support person. Calls are scheduled and supported by staff, and your loved ones can still send messages through the office. Once you reach your second month, more flexibility is offered with calls.

  • Visitors can come after the first month, with approval

These guidelines are here to help you settle in, feel safe and get the most out of your time here.

GUIDELINES & COMMITMENT

The program works best when everyone feels safe and supported. These guidelines are in place to make that possible.

  • Minimum stay is 12 months

  • Leaving before 6 months may affect your ability to return

  • Reapplying later requires 2–4 weeks’ wait, depending on circumstances

  • Discharge may occur for:

    • Use of drugs, alcohol, or smoking

    • Verbal abuse or aggressive behaviour

    • Theft, self-harm, or unsafe conduct

  • All medications are managed and dispensed by staff

If you have questions or concerns, we’re always happy to chat.
